Synopsis

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna have sold their Worli luxury apartment for INR 80 crore. Located on the 39th floor of the Three Sixty West tower, the 6,830 sq. ft. property includes four car parking spaces. The sale, registered earlier this month, incurred a stamp duty of INR 4.80 crore. Akshay originally bought the apartment in 2015 for INR 27.95 crore before transferring it to Twinkle for INR 32 crore. The transaction highlights the ongoing boom in Mumbai's luxury real estate market, with celebrities and high-net-worth individuals continuing to see high-end properties as both lifestyle assets and lucrative investments.

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and his wife, Twinkle Khanna, have sold their luxury apartment in Mumbai's upscale Worli locality for INR 80 crore. The property, located on the 39th floor of a high-end residential tower within the Three Sixty West complex on Dr. Annie Besant Road, spans a carpet area of 6,830 sq. ft. and comes with exclusive access to four car parking slots. The sale was officially registered earlier this month, with a stamp duty payment of INR 4.80 crore, according to registration documents accessed through IndexTap.com. Akshay Kumar originally purchased this apartment in August 2015 for INR 27.95 crore. A month later, he transferred ownership to his wife for INR 32 crore.

Three Sixty West has become one of Mumbai's most sought-after luxury residential towers, attracting business tycoons and Bollywood celebrities. Over the years, prominent investors in the complex have included DMart founder Radhakishan Damani and several corporate executives. Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji have also invested in high-end properties in Worli, reinforcing its status as a premium real estate destination.

Beyond this Worli apartment, Akshay Kumar has been actively investing in Mumbai's real estate market. In 2022, he leased a commercial property in Andheri West for INR 2.66 crore annually. He also owns a sea-facing bungalow in Juhu, one of the city's most expensive residential areas.

Mumbai's ultra-luxury real estate market has witnessed strong demand, especially in prime locations like Worli, Bandra, and South Mumbai. High-net-worth individuals, including celebrities and NRIs, continue to drive high-value transactions, further pushing property prices upward. Many investors see real estate not just as a lifestyle choice but also as a financial asset that appreciates over time. Additionally, some may opt for tax strategies like tax harvesting, where gains from real estate transactions are offset against stock market losses to optimise tax liabilities.

The sale of Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna's apartment highlights the steady demand for premium residences in Mumbai's real estate market. With Worli emerging as a hotspot for high-value transactions, celebrities and business tycoons are increasingly investing in ultra-luxury properties. Akshay Kumar's real estate footprint further reflects the trend of celebrities strategically acquiring and selling high-value assets. Additionally, financial strategies like tax harvesting allow investors to maximise gains while managing tax liabilities. As demand for luxury housing remains strong, Mumbai's high-end property market is likely to see continued growth in the coming years.
